Strategic Account Manager – Audio/Visual Sales (Hunter Role)
We are seeking a driven, strategic, and results-oriented Strategic Account Manager to join our CTG Team. This role is ideal for a natural hunter with a proven track record of winning new business, cultivating strong client relationships, and delivering tailored A/V solutions in fast-paced, commercial or institutional environments. In this high-impact, client-facing role, you will lead the full sales cycle—from prospecting to close—while championing client success, developing early-stage ideas into concrete project opportunities, and aligning internal resources to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
- Proactively identify and pursue new A/V sales opportunities across corporate, education, government and Education.
- Lead outreach efforts—cold calling, networking, and referrals—to fill the pipeline.
- Deliver tailored sales presentations and product demos based on client-specific needs and technical requirements.
- Develop thought starters and early concept proposals to initiate client discussions and accelerate buying cycles.
- Prepare and refine preliminary system design and budget exercises to help clients visualize investment levels and project scope.
- Respond to RFPs and proposals in partnership with internal engineering, design, and estimating teams.
- Meet and exceed individual sales targets and territory growth expectations.
Account & Client Management
- Serve as the trusted primary point of contact for clients, from first engagement through post-installation follow-up.
- Champion client projects internally—ensuring priorities are clearly communicated, timelines are respected, and solutions exceed expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Support clients in navigating the full project lifecycle, including discovery, design coordination, procurement, and delivery.
- Conduct regular client check-ins and satisfaction assessments; identify opportunities for future phases or system upgrades.
Project & Internal Coordination
- Partner with internal teams (design, project management, procurement, technical services) to ensure deliverables align with client expectations and project requirements.
- Ensure a smooth handoff between sales and implementation teams with clear documentation of client needs, timelines, and scope.
- Oversee early-stage planning activities including site walks, solution discovery, and budget alignment.
- Track project milestones and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders as needed.
Sales Operations & Strategy
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems including opportunity status, client contacts, and forecast details.
- Analyze sales performance and win/loss trends to improve future approach.
- Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and new technologies to support thought leadership and client conversations.
- Collaborate with leadership to inform go-to-market strategies and territory planning.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience, with a strong preference for A/V, systems integration, or technology-driven solutions.
- Proven hunter mindset with a strong ability to open new doors and close complex deals.
- Track record of managing client relationships through long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with commercial A/V products, integration approaches, and solution development.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Able to travel as needed to client sites and company locations. ( Norfolk, Charlottesville)
